La llegada de la informática al mundo del comercio internacional ha hecho si cabe aun más competitivo este sector. Gracias a la conexión a traves de internet desaparecen las distancias e igual estamos hablando con nuestro proveedor de San Pedro que con nuestro cliente de Miami.

En este sentido es interesante mencionar que el Real Decreto 1889/99 de 13 de diciembre que liberaliza el despacho de aduana hacer que en breve el transitario también pueda prestar estos servicios antes reservados a los agentes de aduanas.

4º.- El transitario, al contar habitualmente con una red de corresponsales por todo el mundo ofrece la posibilidad de realizar un transporte multimodal que se adapte plenamente a las necesidades del usuario, pudiendo estar en contacto directo, gracias a estos corresponsales tanto con el cargador como con el destinatario.

Todas estas ventajas han llevado a que hoy en día la figura del transitario haya adquirido una gran relevancia en el mundo del comercio, haciéndolo, hoy, casi imprescindible. El transitario suponen para el empresario una importante ventaja ya que le ofrecen un conocimiento especializado en el sector de la logística y el transporte que el empresario no conoce en profundidad, ofreciendo en cada momento la combinación de precio y transit time que mas provechosa pueda resultar.
