El puerto de Valencia cerró el año 2009 con un total de 140 escalas y 189.000 pasajeros. Sin embargo, la previsión para 2010 apunta un crecimiento notable, tanto en el número de escalas (172) como de pasajeros (230.000).

A estos resultados contribuirá de forma especial la naviera Costa Cruceros, que tras seis años sin escalar en este puerto, renueva su apuesta por Valencia, con ocho escalas y la elección como puerto base para el próximo año.

Pero otras compañías siguen fieles a Valencia e incluyen la ciudad en sus rutas por el
Mediterráneo:
MSC Crociere, Happy Cruises (antes Quail Cruises), AIDA Cruises, P&O Cruises, Celebrity Cruise Lines, Princesa Cruises, Hapag Lloyd, Radisson, Seven Seas Cruises, Island Star, Royal Caribbean, Louis Cruise Line, Sea Cloud Cruises, Majestic International, Seabourn Cruise Lines y Windstar Cruises.

Muelles
En la actualidad Valencia cuenta con cuatro muelles dedicados a este tráfico:
Transversal de Poniente (con 395 metros de línea de atraque ), Muelle de Poniente (con 159 metros a 9 de calado y otros 220 de línea de atraque a 11 metros de calado), Muelle Turia Norte (219 metros a 11 de calado) y Turia Sur (con 153 metros a 9 de calado y otros 194 metros de línea de atraque a 11 de calado).

En 2015, una vez en marcha la segunda fase de la Ampliación Norte del puerto de Valencia, actualmente en ejecución, este puerto contará con nuevas infraestructuras dedicadas a cruceros, tanto muelles como terminales, en una zona acondicionada para la comodidad y el ocio de los pasajeros.

Valencia aims at reaching 230,000 passengers in 2010

Over the last years Valencia has been consolidating its position as a cruise destination. The number of shipping companies taking the choice of calling at the city of the river Turia is growing, taking advantage of the rich and well assorted tourist and cultural offer that gathers. In short , and thanks to the start of operation of the Tren de Alta Velocidad (AVE), that will link Valencia with Madrid in a record time, the potential of Valencia will be even greater. To this will add new port infrastructures now in project.

The Port of Valencia ended 2009 with 140 total calls and 189,000 cruise passengers.

Nevertheless, the forecasting for 2010 aims at an outstanding growth, both in the number of
calls (172) and passengers (230,000).

To this results will contribute in a significant way the shipping company Costa Cruceros, which after six years without calling at this port, renews its bet for Valencia, with eight calls and the choice as home port for next year. But other companies remain faithful to Valencia and include the city in their routes through the Mediterranean:
